A few individuals can afford a pricey high-end gaming setup, so for the rest of us, the budget is usually fixed, and we have to optimize performance and value to obtain everything within our budget.

This is another excellent choice from AMD that I picked up for a bargain price.

AMD was able to get their hands on the Ryzen 7 1700X and Ryzen 7 1800X, and they are the highest performing CPUs available at the moment.

They have an impressive 12 cores and 16 threads, which is compelling. This CPU is rated for a 4.6 GHz maximum turbo clock, which is unique. This is a 6-core, 12-thread CPU that comes with a 95W TDP.

I bought this CPU to replace my Intel Core i5-7600K, but I decided to use a slightly higher clocked CPU.

I decided to go with the Ryzen 5 5600X because it is cheaper, and I wanted something a bit less power-hungry than the Ryzen 7 1700X.

I have been using this best motherboard for 6800 xt for about a month now, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with it. It runs everything at full speed, and it doesn’t get too hot.

AMD made a big deal out of Ryzen being the first to offer unlocked multipliers.

However, I am not sure if that’s true.

I am still waiting for the Intel X299 platform to be released so that I can compare the two.

Why Should You Get It?

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X-Best Enthusiast CPU for RX 6800 XT

View on Amazon

I am not sure if you have ever tried overclocking, but it’s undoubtedly an exciting experience.

I have been using the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X for almost a month now, and I’ve had the chance to run it at 4.7GHz and 4.8GHz.

Both were stable for hours on end, but I could not run it at its rated clock speed for more than an hour before my PC would shut down.

This was a bit of a concern since I was looking forward to overclocking it, but it is safe to say that the Ryzen 9 3950X is not a suitable CPU for serious overclocking.

As soon as you get past 4.6GHz, things go downhill, and the CPU becomes unstable and eventually shuts down.

It is a bit disappointing considering that the Ryzen 9 3950X is rated at 4.7GHz, and I was hoping to get the full 100MHz to overclock.

Thankfully, the Ryzen 9 3950X can handle a lot of overclocking, so it’s still a good choice if you’re looking for a gaming processor.

Cache

The central processor unit does not directly access the RAM. The data is saved in the system’s cache memory for later use.

At the moment, CPUs contain more than one layer of cache memory. The calculating performance in the cache is quicker than in the RAM.

Cache stores data and instruct the CPU to wait until data is retrieved from RAM. It determines where the data is stored.

RAM

RAM is the general-purpose memory that holds the data of the user in the system. RAM is an abbreviation for random access memory, which is also known as volatile memory since it can only store data in the presence of electricity.

It may be both static and dynamic. This central storage is not recognized as a component of the CPU. It supplies the stored data when the CPU needs it.

Overclocking

An overclocking function is a must-have in a gaming PC. AMD and Intel both provide CPUs with an unlocked multiplier that can be readily overclocked.

However, before purchasing an unlocked CPU, bear two things in mind. When choosing a cooler, keep the additional cooling necessary for the CPU in mind first.
